Firm History
Providing Premier Legal Services Since 1949
Establishing the Law Firm
In business for 60+ years, McCarty Law LLP (formerly known as McCarty Curry Wydeven Peeters & Haak, LLP) has grown quietly and deliberately, earning our place as a leader in the Wisconsin legal profession.
Our commitment to excellent legal services and continuous professional growth ensures that our clients will receive the very best legal representation.
Neil McCarty, a fourth-generation Kaukauna resident, founded the Fox Valley law firm in 1949 after graduating from Harvard Law School. Practicing estate planning and general corporate law, he began with a simple promise to his clients he vowed to provide trusted legal advice and exceptional legal counsel.
Expanding the Law Firm
In 1961, Neil realized the need for an experienced litigator and hired Irv Curry to handle proceedings. Irv proved to be an instrumental asset and later became the law firm's managing partner.
Expanding to meet the needs of a growing Fox Cities legal market, Neil and Irv recruited partner Dennis Wydeven based on his strong real estate law background. Dennis merged his independent practice to join the law firm in 1972 and continues to be recognized for his contributions nearly four decades later.
As founders, Neil, Irv and Dennis laid the groundwork that this Fox Valley law firm continues to operate around. From our roots in Kaukauna starting at the intersection of Lawe and Wisconsin Streets and moving to the Bank of Kaukauna building, the Pechman Building and 120 East Fourth Street to our new home in Appleton, Wisconsin, helping our clients succeed has been fundamental to our continuous growth.
Moving Forward
Today, Irv's son, Gregg Curry, is the managing partner of McCarty Law with Dennis's son, Reg Wydeven, serving as one of the law firm's five partners. We specialize in all aspects of business and personal law with 12 experienced attorneys and 17 staff members to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and fulfill our company's vision.
